Beta Theta, a Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, sponsors an annual Mardi Gras-themed fundraiser donating all proceeds to schools, charities, and organizations serving the south Lake community.  The 2018 event raised over $17,000!  Because of the success of the fundraiser, Eleanor Lofgren, a charter member of Beta Theta, recently visited Faith Neighborhood Center to present a monetary donation and tour its facility located at 14727 Timber Village Rd., Groveland.

The Center has been in operation for over 40 years. Last year it assisted about 43,000 families.  It provides food for those who cannot afford food and financial support for families on the brink of eviction.  It also offers medical support by working with the South Lake Health Center to provide medical care to the families who need it. It currently assists an average of 850 families each month and over half of them are children.

The Center accepts donations. Call 352-429-1200 or visit FNC to learn more about the organization.

Save the Date!  The next annual Mardi Gras will be held on February 23, 2019, at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center.
