Rendering of The Tire Choice

City Council Denied the Location of a Tire Center on Citrus Tower Boulevard and US Highway 27 After Residents Strongly Objected

Clermont City Council considered a conditional use permit to allow Tire Choice, a tire store with 8 bays on property to be located at Kings Crossing (southeast corner of Citrus Tower Boulevard and US Highway 27).

Residents of Bella Largo and Kings Ridge, communities located near the location, spoke against the tire Center, expressing concerns about noise levels, the possible impact on the nearby lake, as well as better use of the property.  Council unanimously denied the request.

7-Eleven Convenience Store and Gas Station Will Not Be Coming To The Corner Of East Avenue and SR 50

S&ME Inc. requested that Clermont City Council approve a permit to allow a 3,000 square foot 7-Eleven convenience store with 8 fueling islands and 16 pump stations to be located on the southwest corner of State Road 50 and East Avenue.

Proposed Plans denied for a 7-Eleven on East Avenue and SR 50.

East Avenue will soon become a “Complete Street” having sidewalks and bicycle lanes from the waterfront to Minnehaha Avenue. This will increase pedestrians, vehicles and bicyclists along East Avenue. Councilman Ray Goodgame said, “We should not put pedestrian and bicyclists at risk. This intersection is so dangerous, that county and city provides crossing guards at this intersection for the children going to school, I am opposed to any high traffic facility being built on this property”.  The city councilmen unanimously agreed that the traffic on East Avenue is too heavy for any additional high traffic facility. The request was denied.
