Lake County Supervisor of Elections, Alan Hays, encourages Lake County citizens to register to vote by October 9th in order to be eligible to vote in the General Election on November 6th.

“Even though National Voter Registration Day was Tuesday, September 25 th, we have been celebrating all month by holding registration drives throughout the county,” Hays commented. “However, if you weren’t able to attend one of the drives, you still have options to complete your registration before the upcoming deadline,” Hays further stated.

Voters who are already registered do not need to re-register but are encouraged to update their registration if any of the following has changed: name, address, signature, or party affiliation. Lake County voters can check their voter registration status or update their registration by visiting www.LakeVotes.com or calling 352.343.9734.

Citizens can now register or update their registration online at RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov. This method requires a Florida driver license or a state identification card and the last four digits of the social security number. Paper applications are also available at the Supervisor of Elections office, public libraries and tax collector offices and can be returned by mail to PO Box 457, Tavares FL 32778 or in person at 1898 E. Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, FL 32778. Applications must be postmarked or received by our office no later than October 9, 2018 to be eligible for the General Election.
