Clermont Waterfront parkrun – Event number 252

For many runners, the beginning of fall often signifies perfect jogs in cool, crisp weather as vivid autumn leaves crunch with every step. This, sadly, is usually not the case for Floridians. It may be October, but this past weekend at parkrun still felt like the typical Florida mornings: hot and humid. Like always, it didn’t prevent the many participants from coming out on an early Saturday morning to run, jog, or walk the beautiful 3.1-mile course along Lake Minneola. 115 people participated, of whom 33 were first timers and 16 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 15 different clubs took part.

Jeremy Arguelles finishes first on the men’s side this weekend with a very solid time of 17:53. The second was overseas visitor Glenn Barden in 19:09, followed by junior Hansel Lugo in 19:27.

Natalie Jacques, visiting from England, was the first female to cross the line this weekend with her time of 23:58. Neelyam Lugo and Neelyanis Lugo finished second and third, respectively, with times of 24:36 and 25:09.

We had three parkrun milestones this week! Luriela Clemente, Donna Wilson, and Makenzie Hill all reached their 50th parkrun, congrats ladies!
