Tin Lizzies

The Tin Lizzies are returning to Downtown Clermont on November 3 at the South Lake County Historical Society’s Heritage Day Festival.  The Festival will be held at Clermont’s Historic Village, 490 West Avenue, from 10 am until 4 pm.  The cars will be parked on the grounds of the Village and their owners will be on hand to answer your questions.

Also featured on Heritage Day will be a variety of activities from the early days of Clermont’s settlement.  There will be chores like churning butter, using hand tools and beating rugs demonstrated and you might even get to try your hand at them.  There will be games for young and old alike.  You could even learn to dance the Virginia Reel.

Admission into the Village will be free on the 3rd but a donation of $2 per person is requested.  Refreshments will be on sale so come early and make a day of it by visiting Clermont’s Arts Festival on Montrose Street after you leave the Village.  In addition to over 30 talented artists vying for prizes, there will be more than 20 crafters, a chalk art contest for children and much, much more.  The Art Festival will be held on the 3rd from 10 am to 5 pm and the 4th from 10 am  to 4 pm.

The Historic Village is located at 490 West Ave in Clermont on the shores of beautiful Lake Minneola and is the result of a unique partnership between the City of Clermont and the Historical Society.  Together we have created a beautiful village featuring two homes built in Clermont in the late 1800’s, the original Cooper Memorial Library, the city’s last train depot, a World War II Quonset hut, and two replicas.  People from countries around the world have visited the Village.  Have you?

The Historic Village is open every Friday from 1 pm to 3 pm and every Saturday & Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm if you would like to see our historic buildings and simply cannot wait until November 3rd!
