2017 Chalk Art Winners

All creative children, teens, adults, and art aficionados are encouraged to sign up for the annual Clermont Chalk Art Competition which will be held at the 12th Annual Downtown Clermont Art Festival on Saturday, November 3, from 10 am to 1 pm. This special Children’s Chalk Art Competition will be hosted by the Clermont Downtown Partnership and sponsored by Lake Apopka Natural Gas with awards announced at 2 pm. This Chalk Art Contest is to inspire youngsters to celebrate their creativity. This event is free and open to the public.

Clermont Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest: There is no fee for aspiring artists from 6 years of age through adults to participate in the Annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest. Artists must register starting at 9:30 am at the Give A Day Foundation Tent on Montrose Street. Art paper and chalk will be supplied while they last.  Finished artwork must be returned there by noon for judging by the South Lake Art League.

The four art competition age categories will be 6-10; 11-14; 15-18 and 19-Adults. Award ribbons will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in the four age categories at 2 pm at the Clermont City Hall Park Main Stage. The four First Place Winners will also receive a gift card. There will be limited art supplies, so advance registration by October 31 is recommended. DCAF Kids Zone: There will also be a special Kids Art Zone with plenty of fun activities at the City Hall Park. Children will enjoy bounce houses and face painting. There will be a special coloring contest with noted author James Baumann at 2 pm on Sunday. 

Downtown Clermont Art Festival: There is still time for all fine artists, fine crafters and folk crafters to submit last-minute applications with digital samples of your artwork directly to CDP for the 12th Annual Downtown Clermont Art Festival. The Downtown Clermont Art Fest will be free and open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday and 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday.  On Sunday, DCAF will also be surrounded by the weekly Clermont Farmer’s Market.

Pancake Breakfast: Sponsored and hosted by the First United Methodist Church, breakfasts will be available from 8 am to 10 am in City Hall Park with delicious pancakes, sausage, fruit, juice and coffee. Only $6 for adults and $4 for children.
