Clermont Waterfront parkrun
Event number 256
The first Clermont Waterfront parkrun of November was a successful one. The weather was crisp and cool, perfect for an early morning 5k race!
For the first time this season, it was chilly enough to celebrate with a mug of hot chocolate instead of the usual ice water. Many new parkrunners came out this week for the first time, and we hope to see them again next week! 109 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 41 were first timers and 13 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 19 different clubs took part.
Kenyon Congdon from the Clermont Triathlon Club finished first overall with a solid time of 18:25. The second and third place finishers broke 19 as well. Jason Brotherhood ran a time of 18:39 and Jason Evans ran a time of 18:55 to round out the podium.
On the female side, Misty Becerra got her first win in her very first parkrun. She ran a time of 22:12. Second place was Sara Mclarty in 22:35, and Elizabeth Hutchinson in 24:05.
Jim Pickering ran his 125th parkrun this week, congrats Jim!
The Clermont Waterfront Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 7:30 am. It starts at Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 12th St, Clermont. This is a FREE event open to people of all levels.
