Students cheer the Lakehawk volleyball team as they walk to the bus to take them to Orlando International Airport.

LEESBURG, Fla. –  Lake-Sumter State College’s Women’s Volleyball team arrived in Charleston, W.Va., for the NJCAA Division II National Championship.

The Lakehawks’ first match is Thursday, Nov. 15 at 9 am against Lincoln Land Community College from Illinois, ranked No. 12 in the country in the latest NJCAA national poll released on October 30. This is the fourth consecutive trip to Nationals for the LLCC Loggers.

Lake-Sumter and the Loggers have had one common opponent this season, Kansas City Kansas Community College. Back on Sept. 7, the Lakehawks knocked off the then No. 17 team in the country in three sets. LLCC was defeated by Kansas City Kansas CC in four sets later in the season on Oct. 20.

LSSC students and employees will be cheering the Lakehawks on from watch parties planned on all three campuses.

All tournament games will be streamed live on njcaatv.com. Lakehawksports.com will have the most current information regarding the schedule and results for the upcoming tournament.
