Volunteers in Building Blocks Ministries
“Exploring Work” class recognized

Patricia Kry, Executive Director of FAITH Neighborhood Center in Groveland, recognized the hard work and dedication of volunteers in Building Blocks Ministries’ Exploring Work class. At Building Blocks recent Annual Achievement Celebration, Mrs. Kry announced that she had submitted the group for a President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizing their 900+ hours of volunteer service. The group volunteers each week in the Neighborhood Center’s food pantry. They sort, bag and box food items that are given each week to over 1,000 area families. The volunteer hours total over $21,000 of in-kind donations to the organization.

Mrs. Kry stated “These dedicated volunteers allow us to continue to meet the needs of the south Lake community in an efficient and cost-effective manner. FAITH Neighborhood center depends on volunteers and operates on a small part-time staff. We love knowing each week that our Building Blocks volunteers are going to show up willing and ready to take on whatever task we need to accomplish.”  Program Director, Peter Hornbuckle, stated ” I’m grateful for FAITH Neighborhood who has made a home for Building Blocks individuals to have a place to shine their light in the community.”

Pam Jones, Community Relations Representative from Congressman Daniel Webster’s office also presented each volunteer with a signed letter from the Congressman.
