JetSurf Academy-Orlando/Clermont recently celebrated the grand opening of its newest extreme watersports training center in Central Florida. The South Lake Chamber of Commerce officiated at the ribbon cutting.

Jetsurf is the latest trend in water sports and The Jetsurf Academy, located at 6010 Cook Road, offers rides, expert instruction and the excitement of reaching speeds up to 36 mph on a motorized board.

Meet the Team:

Jet Surf Instructor – Casey Griffin is a seventh-generation Floridian who was born and raised in Clermont. Casey grew up on the Clermont chain of lakes where he developed a passion for all watersports at a young age. Casey later took his passion to a sports camp where he taught wakeboarding, wakeskating, and water skiing to beginner and intermediate riders. and reaching speeds up to 36 mph

General Manager – Cliff Huff was born in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to Central Florida with his family at a young age, where he fell in love with the water and every type of sports activity around it. Cliff’s first Florida home was located on Lake Mary and came with an aluminum johnboat with an outboard motor. Cliff, his younger brother, and their friends spent every afternoon after school knee boarding and surfing behind the boat. Once he learned to drive, Cliff developed a passion for motorsports and began road racing his Honda CRX at tracks like Daytona International Speedway and Sebring International Raceway. To this day, Cliff holds a competition license with the Sports Car Club of America. He actively races cars and volunteers his time to instruct novice drivers with groups, such as Chin Motorsports, Porsche Club of American, BMW Car Club of America, Ferrari of America and the Mercedes AMG Driving Academy. Cliff is excited to combine his passions for watersports and racing to bring Jetsurf to Central Florida.

Jetsurf Mechanic – Will Barber was raised in Central Florida. He’s been an outdoor and watersports enthusiast his entire life, and regularly enjoys wakeboarding, jet surfing, and scuba diving. He’s worked on engines for the road, off-road and hobby-related vehicles, and now maintains JetSurf Academy Orlando’s fleet of boards. Prior to joining JetSurf Academy Orlando, Will spent his career working at Walt Disney World, where he supported Disney’s vast array of professionally-organized sporting events at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports.
