The Montverde Academy Class of 2019 participated in team building activities during their Senior Retreat. They worked in teams to decipher instructions and assign tasks to assemble 22 children’s boy’s and girl’s bicycles. The bikes were presented to Sheriff Peyton Grinnell of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at the Upper School assembly earlier this week.

“It was a great team building exercise that had students who didn’t know each other well working together to successfully complete a project,” said John Weaver, director of multicultural programs, community service and leadership at MVA. “Students knew the bikes would be given to children to ride, so they ensured that the bikes were properly assembled to be safely ridden. We are proud to donate these bikes to the Sheriff’s Office to distribute to children in need.”

“I am amazed each year by the generosity of the students, faculty, and staff of the Montverde Academy,” said Sheriff Peyton C. Grinnell. “These bicycles will certainly brighten a child’s day that much more on December 15th when we give them away.”
