The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will host the annual State of the County presentation at 9 am on Tuesday, December 4, in the County Commission Chambers of the LakeCounty Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.

This year’s theme, “A Spirit of Service,” will highlight the achievements of the board such as budget efficiencies, public safety improvements, economic development and tourism initiatives.The State of the County program, led by Chairman Timothy Sullivan, will include the induction of the late Mabel Norris Reese into the Women’s Hall of Fame by Vice Chairman Leslie Campione, as well as a special recognition by Sheriff Peyton Grinnell of Lake County first responders who assisted in the security and recovery operations during Hurricane Michael.

A brief intermission will follow before the start of the regularly scheduled County Commission meeting. The Election of Officers, in which a chairman and vice chairman are chosen, will take place at the beginning of the regular board meeting.

The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
