Minneola Elementary Charter School Principal Sherry Watts welcomes everyone to the groundbreaking

This Thursday, November 29, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Minneola Charter School. The event kicks-off the construction on the much anticipated 7th and 8th-grade school building. The school will offer Pre-k through 7th grade for the 2019-2020 school year, and Pre-K- 8th grade for the 2020-2021 school year. Minneola Charter School is working in partnership with Schmid Construction on the project.

Principal Sherry Watts expressed thanks to Charter Board Chairman, Janel Plouffe, Charter Board Members Tony Johnson and Nina Willis-Frye, Southlake Kiwanis President, Lucy Hage, and member Richard Chapman, Congressman Webster’s representative, Pam Jones, Minneola Fire Chief Jan Otero, Scott and Cormia Architect Firm, and all who attended the event. She also extended a “Thank You” to John Schmid and the entire Schmid team for being an amazing partner in their expansion journey.

Ms. Watts stated, “Our parents have been asking for us to expand for many years, and we are excited to finally be able to fulfill their desire to have their children remain at MCS through the middle grades.”
