With temperatures dropping this evening, three Lake County churches are opened to those vulnerable to the cold weather.

  • LifePointe Church, located at 3551 E. Orange Ave., Eustis,
  • Trinity Assembly of God, 200 Urick St., Fruitland Park, and in south Lake County
  • Cathedral of Power International Church located at 100 E. Minnehaha Ave., Clermont

The shelters are open Sunday from 5:30 pm to Monday, January 21 at 7 am. The Lake County Office of Emergency Management is assisting churches by providing sheltering supplies, the Lake County Community Services Department is providing food for families who will be staying overnight.

Lake County Transit will offer assistance to those needing transport to shelters between the hours of 5:00 pm and 5:30 pm from the following pick-up locations:

Service to  LifePointe: The Open Door, 115 E. Citrus Ave., Eustis, FL

Service to Trinity: Come As You Are Ministry, 1344 Griffin Rd., Leesburg, FL

Service to Cathedral of Power: Citrus Tower Parking Lot, 141 N. Hwy 27, Clermont

And as temperatures drop, remember your pets need a warm place to stay.
