The sixth edition of the Drive for Men’s Health got underway on Saturday morning’s Clermont parkrun.  The weekly parkrun takes place every Saturday at Hiawatha Park on the west side of Lake Minneola and was the perfect way to kick-off this year’s epic event. The 2019 Drive takes local urologists, Dr. Jamin Brahmbhatt and Dr. Sijo Parekatti, outside the United States making the Drive international for the first time this year; going global!

During the 2019 Drive, the purpose will be to try to reach a whole new group of men; those who live in areas of the world less likely to hear the message of why being proactive about their health is so important.  The goal will be to inspire those abroad to make the decision to get fit & get moving.

Dr. Sijo and Dr. Jamin will trace their Indian roots & travel back to India & then later to Dubai.  The message how simple, daily changes in routine can add years to a man’s life whether in Clermont, India or Dubai.
“Today is so important to us to continue to inspire men.  We all need inspiration to live a healthier lifestyle.  As you can see, even I need inspiration.  But every day, I choose to move.  Every day I choose to get off the couch & do this.  Its sometimes hard but it is fun too.  That is the message we bring,” Dr. Jamin commented as he ran through the tree line today.
This morning parkrun was the launch of the exciting journey.  It’s all about continuing to inspire together.
“It’s all about walking the walk.  That is why we are out here.  It is a whole different ballgame telling a patient to do something; buts its another thing to get out and do it yourself. The whole purpose is to make healthy decisions so I can be there for my family down the road and maybe even inspire them to do the same.  Where ever you live, simple little changes can be the difference,” added Dr. Sijo.
Clermont parkrun Race Director Daniel Whitehouse concluded, “Glad to have them make parkrun part of the Drive’s kick-off the second year in a row and spreading the word how important it is for men to be proactive (with their health).  Glad to have them here. We hope we can continue to be part in years to come.”
