With almost 600 dogs successfully rescued since its opening three years ago, Polka Dogz Pet Rescue is looking to expand from their current Winter Garden facility into a new home. Your support by adopting, fostering, volunteering and donating will help make this dream a reality. At Polka Dogz Pet Rescue, they rely on dedicated volunteers and generous donors to maintain the rescue and the extensive medical treatment of all the dogs.

Current Board Members & Volunteers: With Aaron Stain, Heidi Hardman and Lisa Thompson as the Polka Dogz Rescue Founders; Tasha Romero, Melanie Tucker, Renee Lanham, Dr. Maureen Burton, Susan Reffitt and Rachel San Filippo are active as current Board Members with responsibilities to oversee Corporate Outreach, Grants, Marketing, Adoptions, Medical Services, Fundraising and Special Events.

Caring Volunteers Needed! More volunteers are really needed to help with Polka Dogz Pet Rescue animal care, special events, foster homes and adoptions! Stein notes, “We invite you to help dogs within our community as a great self-help therapy.  We are limited to how many dog’s lives we can save by the number of volunteers we have. A few hours of your time each week will help us save a dog’s life. You can dramatically help them on their journey to their new homes. Most often, they just need some love and attention. Depending on your skill level and interests, we provide many volunteer opportunities to enrich both your lives and the lives of our loveable furry friends!”

Foster Homes Needed! You can help save a dog’s life.  When you foster a needy Polka Dogz Pet Rescue dog, every minute you spend offering kindness, guidance and a safe haven paves the way for that dog to find lifelong security and love. Foster homes help provide each dog a unique opportunity between abandonment and adoption, to transition into knowing what being in a good home will feel like. Your shared time and effort will allow your foster dog to feel safe, secure and to heal their wounded hearts. They will quickly learn to trust your stress-free touch with a steady feeding schedule and attention. The shared knowledge you gain about your foster dog from favorite toys, treats or places to explore will help situate him or her within the perfect family situation. Without foster homes, Polka Dogz Pet Rescue could not get dogs off the local Central Florida area streets, out of kill shelters or puppy mills.

New Home Needed! Aaron Stein shares,We desperately need to find a real home with a safe structure that we won’t have to evacuate every time there is a major storm. Polka Dogz Pet Rescue has been in a temporary facility for over 3 years. We need a larger new home where we will have a fenced in yard for our dogs to play.” Polka Dogz is hoping to relocate in the Winter Garden, Clermont, West Orange or East Lake within South Lake County.

Donors Needed! Now is the time to help rescue and care for loveable dogs. To access the Polka Dogz Pet Rescue Giving Grid, go to:https://www.givinggrid.com/Polkadogzdoghouse/.
