Najee Rodriguez, a student at East Ridge High School, was selected as the third Outstanding Student Leader for the 2018-2019 school year. Kathy Smith, director of Donor Relations at the Community Foundation of South Lake announced the honor at the South Lake Chamber of Commerce Breakfast.

Najee Rodriguez holds a GPA of 4.35 and is a member of Rho Kappa National Honors Society. He is currently serving as the president of the Student Government Association and has served as editor of the school newspaper in 2017-2018. In addition, he is a member of the Key Club.

When he is not balancing the work from his several AP and honors classes, he is either playing varsity tennis, serving as the team manager for the varsity boys soccer team or participating in one of the many East Ridge High School’s Theater department’s productions.

Najee also volunteers in his community. He has volunteered for Stephanie Murphy’s Congressional campaign and with the South Lake Democratic Party.

He has received the Governor’s commendation for a perfect score on the English II FSA, has been on the honor roll in 2018 and 2019, and is an AP Scholar with Distinction.
