The Clermont Earth Day and Lake Cleanup will take place on April 20 at Lake Hiawatha Preserve, 450 N. Lake Minneola Shores. The City of Clermont is putting on the free festivities.

Bring your family and friends to join this community effort in keeping Clermont’s gorgeous lakes pristine. Plus, learn more about how you can be a good steward of the earth.

The Lake Cleanup will kick off first from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. Then, the Earth Day Festival will take place from 10 am to 2 pm. Enjoy environmental demonstrations, a kids zone, DJ music and entertainment, food, an aerialist performance and an Easter egg drop – all free.

Pre-register for the Lake Cleanup by April 8 for a free T-shirt; the registration form is at www.ClermontFL.gov/events and can be sent via email or mail. You also can register on the day of the event, but T-shirts are only guaranteed for pre-registrations. Prizes will be awarded for most weight of trash collected, youngest participant, oldest participant, oddest object found and more.

In addition to the City of Clermont, other event partners and sponsors include Lake County Government, Keep Lake Beautiful, Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, Insight Credit Union, Giant Recreation World, Florida Sports Injury and Orthopedic Institute and McDonald’s.
