In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

In order to help celebrate Police Week, Belk Store,  270 Citrus Tower Blvd., Clermont,  has invited members of the Clermont Police Department as their special guest on Wednesday, May 15.  They will be at the store from 10 am until 12 noon to meet and greet people as they come in.

Along with our Police Officers, Clermont Mayor Gail Ash will help honor the city’s law enforcement.
