Pat Caracciolo (lovingly called Pat the Dog) was pleasantly surprised at May’s Chamber Breakfast when it was announced that he was the recipient of the “Ann Dupee Gem of the Hills Award”. The award is given to a local business person who is focused on giving back to the community.
Pat has worked professionally with a variety of animals over the years, including killer whales, polar bears, parrots, and American bald eagles before focusing his energy on a successful dog boarding, training, and grooming business named, “Pat The Dog”.
Pat is the chair of Project Scholars, a program which has awarded more than $800,000 to more than 400 students since 2003. Pig on the Pond, an annual festival in South Lake, is one of its signature fundraising events. Pat also serves as the incoming chair for the South Lake Chamber of Commerce and was the sponsor of this month’s Outstanding Student Leader Award.
He helped sponsor Paws for Peace Walk for Harbor House of Central Florida and contributes to and supports Future Farmers of America.
Congratulations to a valued member of the community.
