Jackson Muse and Lucas Parlato

Minneola Charter School fifth-graders Jackson Muse and Lucas Parlato recently secured their place in the VEX IQ World Championship in Louisville, KY and did an awesome job representing their school and the Mustang VEX IQ Robotics Team.

Amanda Borysiewicz, Science Enrichment Teacher and coach for the VEX robotics team, praised her Mustangs stating, “This year’s Robotics team had an awesome 2018-2019 season complete with a trip! She said that MCS is so proud of Lucas and Jackson who designed, built, and programmed their robot to win.

Jackson described the first day at the challenge as mostly getting prepared and finding the other teams. Lucas said the second day included skill runs and program skills.

The boys finished 54thout of over 400 teams from around the world.

The boys agree that the VEX IQ Challenge is not about competition but teamwork.
