Lake County Commission approved the City of Clermont’s request for $750,000 toward its new boat ramp. The funds will come from the county’s tourism development tax.

The existing boat ramp by Victory Point will be relocated to the southern bank of Lake Minneola, known as the former Bell Ceramics site.  This will shift motorized watercraft away from the many non-motorized watercraft that launch from the Clermont Boat House and Victory Pointe. The new ramp will double the launch pads to four, increase parking by 50 percent, add mooring slips for peak traffic and have new restrooms. (for detailed information, visit Clermont Master Plan.

Next Tuesday, May 28, the Clermont City Council will consider awarding the bid to Traverse Group, Inc. for the construction of a highly anticipated public boat ramp and restroom in the budgeted amount of $2,491,313.73 with $750,000 of approved funding from Lake County.

The current boat ramp will remain operational until the new ramp is completed.
