On Monday, June 17, Groveland City Council put on their hardhats, picked up their shovels and broke ground marking the beginning of a new look for Lake David Park that will include a splash pad with restrooms, as well as a stage amphitheater for community events and programs, and a boardwalk with shaded structure.

A festival street will increase event capacity by opening the park and formalizing the corner as a “Great Lawn which will provide a public right-of-way location that can be closed to traffic on multiple occasions during the year for special events.

The projected completion date is the end of this year – 2019.
