The Lake County Supervisor of Elections Office will close July 4th and July 5th for Independence Day; however, their office will be represented at many community events held in the area over the holiday weekend.

“We feel it is important to get out in the community and provide voters with an opportunity to register, update their voter record, request a vote-by-mail ballot, and offer general election information,” stated Supervisor Alan Hays.

They plan to be at the following events:

July 3rd– The Mount Dora Freedom on the Waterfront Celebration, festivities begin at 4 pm. You can also look for them in the Parade on July 4th at 10 am.

July 4th – The Tavares Annual 4th of July Celebration in Wooten Park. Stop by their booth and they will be glad to assist with all your voter services needs. They will be available from 4 pm – 9 pm.

July 5th – You can find them in Eustis for their First Friday, Hometown Independence Day Celebration in downtown Eustis. The event is scheduled from 5 pm – 9:30 pm, with fireworks starting around 9 pm.

“We want to be visible in the community and a constant reminder to encourage voters to ensure our office is kept informed of any changes that could impact their voter eligibility, and ensure folks who are registering for the first time meet all deadlines prior to the next election cycle,” Hays commented.

Their office will resume normal business hours on Monday, July 8th.
