The Minneola Schoolhouse Library is presenting a special Summer Reading Event. As part of this year’s theme “A Universe of Stories”, the library will be hosting two FREE chalk-drawing workshops for kids, Thursday, July 18th, at 11 am in the library’s courtyard at 100 S. Main Avenue in Minneola.

The workshops will be taught by 3-D chalk artist Beth Pittman. In keeping with the “Universe of Stories” theme, Beth taught  participants to draw 3-D chalk aliens on June 27th and 3-D spaceships on July 11th. All ages and skill levels are welcome, and supplies will be provided.

Beth Pittman is a local chalk artist who loves to decorate common spaces with fun, quirky drawings that bring delight to all ages.  She is the winner of the 2018 Palatka Chalk Festival and is passionate about encouraging creativity in kids. You can see her chalk art and other whimsical works on Instagram @sidewalk_scribbles.

This program is FREE for all ages thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Minneola Schoolhouse Library. The library is located at 100 South Main Avenue in Minneola, Florida. For more information email jdix@minneola.us or call Josie Dix at the library at (352) 432-3921 Ext 380.
