Lake Technical College graduate Ron DeMoss opened his successful business DeMoss House of Cuts just 3 years after graduating Lake Tech’s Cosmetology program. Ron had spent the first few years after graduating from Lake Tech working at corporate salons, small shops, vintage shops, and high volume shops gaining experience before opening DeMoss House of Cuts’ first location in 2015. For 18 months DeMoss worked on his own and devoted twelve hours a day all seven days of the week building his business. In 2018 Ron DeMoss had built up his client list to bring on 4 other salon professionals and in December 2018 he moved DeMoss House of Cuts to its current location in Leesburg which is triple the size of his first location.

When asked why Ron chose to pursue his education at Lake Tech, he stated “Lake Tech had the best completion rate for that program and was really close to home, allowing me to still work and spend time with my family”. Ron is still in touch with his Lake Tech instructors, and credits them with playing a vital role in his success stating “It wasn’t easy for me because my life had a lot going on, but my instructors believed in me and it was huge”. DeMoss House of Cuts is a thriving Leesburg business, and Ron credits his wife, his team, and Lake Tech with providing him with the support and skills needed to succeed.

We hope that this story of success inspires others to pursue their passion in learning a technical career here at Lake Tech. Lake Technical College appreciates Ron DeMoss owner of DeMoss House of Cuts for the opportunity to share with our students and the community an example of how successful our graduates are, and what a valuable foundation we provide here. At Lake Tech we pride ourselves on holding success as a tradition and giving our students the opportunity to learn a career in a year.
