Downtown Clermont’s nightlife is ramping up.

The city’s downtown shopping district will be “Alive After 5” (p.m.) every Thursday starting Aug. 1. The new promotion is brought to you by the Clermont Downtown Partnership (CDP) with the support of the City of Clermont.

Visit participating locally owned stores on Thursday nights, open until 8 p.m. or later, and enjoy special events, vendors, sales and more. This week, DJ T. Scott Walker will be playing outside at Corelli’s Pantry. Enter for door prizes at participating stores and listen for the DJ’s announcements of the winners between 7-8 pm.

“Downtown Clermont has so much to offer,” Clermont City Manager Darren Gray said. “We hope everyone will come out on Thursday evenings to enjoy Alive After 5 and support their local businesses. We have some great new shops, breweries, and restaurants.”

Suncreek Brewery and Clermont Brewing Company are offering 10 percent off your entire check every Thursday night if a receipt from that same Thursday night is presented from a downtown retail (not food/beverage) merchant.

In conjunction with Alive After 5, Bacchus Vino Etcetera is kicking off its Don’t Be Thirsty Thursdays on Aug. 1 with free wine tastings from 6-8 p.m. every Thursday. This week, sauvignon blancs will be featured.

“The Clermont Downtown Partnership is excited to offer another opportunity to the community with our Thursday evening Alive After 5 event,” said CDP President Erika Shanoff, owner of Erika’s Tea Room and The Great Floridian Marketplace. “Visit participating stores from 5-8 p.m. or later and enjoy your locally owned small businesses right in the heart of your downtown. Enjoy music, special events, offers and more, all close to home.”

Historic Downtown Clermont has something for everyone with the beautiful Lake Minneola at its foothills. Stroll the charming streets and pop into locally owned gift stores, clothing shops, athletic stores, a fishing shop, a tea room, a wine shop and much more. Hungry? Choose from a growing list of dining options, including Italian, Mexican and American fare, as well as a frozen yogurt shop, a dolceria and a smoothie and coffee stop. Plus, check out the community theater, art gallery, festivals, Sunday farmers markets, monthly First Friday Food Truck nights and monthly wine walks. Make Downtown Clermont your destination, where cuisine, culture and community meet.
