On August 13, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners, by unanimous proclamation designated September 8, as “Orlando Cat Café Day” in Lake County, Florida. September 8th marks the third anniversary for this unique concept, which to date has adopted 534 cats and kittens to their forever homes.

“We are both thrilled and humbled by this honor,” says Sandra Cagan, founder and owner of The Orlando Cat Café. “We are the first cat café to open in Florida and are thrilled to help homeless cats get a second chance.”

The Orlando Cat Café will hold a celebration on Sunday, September 8th from noon to 2:00 pm with prizes, food, refreshments, and of course, plenty of felines! This celebration is open to the public and more details can be found at orlandocatcafe.com.

The Orlando Cat Café has welcomed more than 55,000 visitors and houses between 12-20 cats and kittens, all of which are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on their vaccinations and available for adoption through SPCA Florida. The Orlando Cat Café is located at 532 Cagan Park Avenue in the Cagan Crossings Town Center, about 4 miles west of Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
