Schools were closed September 3 and September 4 in Lake County as forecasts predicted a heavy impact from Hurricane Dorian, but students will not have to make up those missed days.

Superintendent Diane Kornegay announced at today’s School Board workshop that the district has enough instructional hours built into its daily schedule for her to authorize the waiver of the two missed days.

There will be no impact on scheduled holidays, student early release days or planning days.
