Heritage Day Festival Coming to Downtown Clermont

The famous Tin Lizzies will be back at the Clermont Historic Village for their annual Heritage Day Festival on Saturday, November 9th.  Heritage Day will run from 10 am until 4 pm, featuring many exciting family activities and classic historical demonstrations.  The Clermont Historic Village hosts will all be dressed in special era costumes for your family photos.  There will be a wonderful variety of antique Tin Lizzie vehicles for you to see.

This year you and your children will be able to learn what it was like to safely shave with a straight edge razor. You will quickly come to understand why so many men back then had beards!  There will be exciting musical presentations as you tour through each building including the old Herring Hooks School House, the original Cooper Memorial Library, the Quonset Hut, The old Clermont Train Depot, the Kern and Townsend Homes. You will even be able to pose next to the Clermont Village Out House.

The October Mountain Washtub Band will be preforming on the porch of the Townsend House at 11:30 am and 2 pm.  Each performance will last an hour and will feature a surprise or two.  Judy Jackson, local hammered dulcimer artist will be in the Music Room of the Kern House with a surprise guest.

Admission to the Heritage Day Festival will be free, yet a small donation of only $3 per person is requested.  Refreshments will be available for purchase at a very reasonable price. Join us at the Village and see history come alive.
