October Business Update: Below Are A Few Highlights in South Lake 

Fazoli’s Quick Service Italian Restaurant chain is bringing a restaurant to Clermont! President and CEO Carl Howard announced that the company has executed an area development agreement to bring three Fazoli’s restaurants to the Orlando and Clermont areas.

AJI Sushi Teppan is coming to Clermont. It will be located on the
northeast corner of State Road 50 and Hancock.

Clermont Fish House, located at East Avenue/Hwy50, increased its space by expanding into the recently vacated convenience store/gas station directly next to them. The 16,000-gallon gas tank and pumps, located in front of the building, have been removed, replaced by additional parking spaces.  The restaurant now has a sit-down restaurant and a bar side. New and Favorites on the menu:Many of the favorites remain the same and additions such as Cottage pie, (similar to Shepherd’s pie, but with ground beef rather than lamb) and ploughman’s lunch (cold sample platter of ham, cheese, scorched egg, apple, bread with butter piccalilli sauce and Branston sauce have been added. Philly cheesesteaks are back by popular demand and new items include bangers and mash, and beans on toast. The Fish House is now serving wines from Lake Ridge Winery, as well as domestic bottled beers (Budweiser, Bud Lite, Michelob Ultra) and Imported (Killians, Smithwicks, Heineken). Draft beers include Boddingtons, Newcastle, Guinness, Stella Artois and Strongbow Cider.

Ellie Lou’s Brew and BBQ will be opening its second brew and BBQ location at 1391 Citrus Tower Blvd, (the building formally housing First Green Bank). Opening Due Date, November 2019.

Hwy 50

Bella Italian Bakery, a bakery using generational recipes and onsite baking has opened. It’s located. next to Beef O’Brady’s

Fifty West broke ground on June 14. This will be a Class A office and retail space on Hwy 50.

Hwy 27 

Dunkin Donuts  –  located near Citrus Tower Blvd. (south) and Hwy 27 (near Chick-fil-A).  Expected to open in 2019.

Planet Fitness is coming to Hwy 27 by Anderson Hill Road, Clermont. There will be several businesses/restaurants lining 27 at Shoppes at Anderson Hill (by Planet Fitness) including Rita’s Italian Ice, Clean Eats and Smoothie King.

DOWNTOWN CLERMONT

Hope Barton Fine Arts Studio and Gallery, located at 647 Lake Avenue, is a fine arts studio selling local artists’ acrylics, etchings, pottery, watercolors, stained glass, oil paintings, and jewelry. Now Open.

Montrose Market,  Located on the corner of Montrose and 8thStreet. This long-awaited cornucopia of stores, all in one building, will open soon.  It will house Sud’s Saloon Bar, Golden Hills Coffee Roasters, Jour de Crepe, Morthan Cheese, Box Grill, One Utopia, Brazilian Bites Gourmet, Real Deal American Grill and Poke Kai. Montrose Market is located at 752 West Montrose Street.

October 27 – Horror lurks on the trails of Lake Louisa State Park. 7 pm to 10 pm.  This hike can be too intense for some and is NOT intended for anyone under the age of 13. There will be a bonfire and scary storytelling on the main beach of Lake Louisa that will be more appropriate for our younger visitors. Ritter’s will also be on-site with some sweet treats available for sale. Admission to Lake Louisa State Park is $5 for a carload of up to 8 people. The suggested donation for the haunted hike is $4 per person. All proceeds raised go directly to the park for park improvements and enhancements as well as community outreach programs. Lake Louisa State Park is located at 7305 S. US Highway 27 in Clermont. The number for the park is 352-394-3969. We are “dying” to see you on the 26th for a ghoulishly good time!
