The Club welcomed Vice District Governor Harry Williams and his wife Maggie to their pot luck dinner meeting Thursday evening at St. Matthias Episcopal Church, downtown Clermont. The Club meets monthly on the second Thursdays at 6:30 pm. VDG Williams briefed the Club on District activities and recognized the Club for having donated $500 toward Lions Clubs International sending over $3.5 million for Bahamas Storm Relief. The Club had a blood screening at the Farmer’s Market downtown.
One of the Club’s more intense fundraising and fund projects is conducting their shooting range across from Tractor Supply on SR 50 in Groveland. Second, Third and Fourth Saturdays from 8-noon the range is open to the public for pistols, 22 rifles, and skeet shooting.
Patrons are urged to donate socks for the homeless by Nov. 1 and backpacks loaded with school supplies and toys for children suffering cancer.
The Club will be raffling a gun, safe at the range. Plans are being made by the Club to host District 35-O at Wesley Hall, First United Methodist Church, January 18..
