Mike Hein became City Manager of Groveland in April of 2018, and since, Groveland has rebranded, gotten a new logo, been recognized as the fastest growing city in Lake County, and received distinction as one of 5 safest places in Florida.

“Groveland Florida, The City With Natural Charm” encourages development yet is maintaining that old southern small-town appeal. Earlier this year, it welcomed Kroger/Ocado to its community, bringing over 400 job to the area, and is moving forward on Downtown Groveland master plan.

Mike comes to Groveland from Arizona, where he served as City Manager in the cities of Nogales, Marana and Tucson.  He also held positions as Planning and Zoning Director, Community and Economic Development Director, Finance Director, Director of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, and Deputy County Administrator
