Private Victoria Florea, a 2019 graduate of South Lake High School and Lake County resident, was awarded the Soldier of the Cycle award for D Company for U.S. Army Basic Combat Training in the 3rd Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment at Fort Jackson, SC on Oct. 10. The award is earned by less than 1 percent of Army soldiers. She was congratulated personally by Fort Jackson commanding general Brigadier General Milford H Beagle, Jr. and Command Sergeant Major Jerimiah E. Gan. Florea will continue her Advanced Individual Training in human resources at Fort Jackson.
