Maritza Rivera and Chris Dudeck announce the 2019 Light Up Clermont theme Holiday In Paradise

Last Thursday, the City of Clermont announced its theme for this year’s Light Up Clermont at The Taste of South Lake, a signature event presented by the South Lake Chamber of Commerce.

Maritza Rivera and Chris Dudeck, representing the City of Clermont, decorated their booth with all things fitting for a Florida holiday. Maritza was dressed in a chillaxing outfit proudly stating “I’m With The Flamingo”. Chris got right into character as the Flamingo. Even the weather contributed to the feel of the theme; HOLIDAY IN PARADISE.

Each year Maritza and Chris of the City of Clermont make it a point to keep to the theme of Light Up Clermont. Last year, the two dressed to the theme Holiday Around the World.

The city’s recreation department takes the “Best of South Lake” competition seriously. This is the third consecutive year that Clermont has won the Best Decorated Booth award.

Light Up Clermont will officially kick off at a community tree-lighting ceremony officiated by Mayor Gail Ash on Friday, December 6 at City Hall. On Saturday morning, December 7, the holiday festival will continue as spectators line the streets on Historic downtown Clermont to enjoy the annual holiday parade. You don’t have to be in the parade to get into the spirit of the season and the theme of the parade.
