Doris Bloodsworth was the guest speaker at the Kiwanis Club of Clermont. Doris, a Pulitzer-nominated writer and historian, presented a program on the forthcoming book, “CLERMONT: From Gem of the Hills to Choice of Champions.”

Bloodsworth said that the 404-page complete history of Lake County’s biggest city will be available before the holidays.  Bloodsworth and Lisa Graham, one of the co-authors, said this new book is a comprehensive history that covers highlights of the City from the Ice Age to the present.

In addition to sharing anecdotes from the book, Bloodsworth also showed a film from the 1920s that showed some of the businesses, Clermont School and city leaders from around 1927.    The book can be ordered at www.ClermontBook.com.  All proceeds will go to the Cooper Memorial Library

President Del Brandt thanked Bloodsworth and Graham for their presentation and said members were looking forward to reading the book.  He presented them with a Club Pin
