Magical cats and the wonders of the Christmas season can be found in the pages of Meows & Mistletoe, an anthology of eight heartwarming, cat-themed holiday stories was released in eBook and print on November 1. Meows & Mistletoe will be the fourth book in the Cat’s Paw Cove Romance series created by multi-published local authors Catherine Kean and Wynter Daniels.

Like the first three Cat’s Paw Cove Romance books, the anthology stories take place in the fictional town of Cat’s Paw Cove, located south of St. Augustine on Florida’s Atlantic coast. The town got its name from the small islands in the harbor, which resemble the pads of a cat’s paw. Anthology authors Sue-Ellen Welfonder, Candace Colt, Darcy Devlon, Debra Jess, Kerry Evelyn, Sharon Buchbinder, Mia Ellas, and Kristal Hollis all wrote stories based on the same premise: a basket of kittens abandoned in a chilly December at one of the town’s tourist sites.

Since Kean and Daniels both adore their cats adopted from Central Florida rescue organizations, and have a goal to support local feline charities, a portion of proceeds from sales of Meows & Mistletoe will be donated to the non-profit SPCA Florida, partner of The Orlando Cat Café.

“We’re incredibly proud of the stories in the anthology,” says Kean, who is an award-winning Kindle Unlimited All-Star author of more than 20 medieval romances and has been friends with Daniels for over twenty years; they co-wrote the series’ debut release, a time-travel called A Witch in Time, which hit the #1 New Release spot in Time Travel Romances on Kindle shortly after its September 10, 2019 release. “Among our authors are USA Today bestsellers, as well as up-and-coming women writers who will be published for the first time with us. All of the stories in Meows & Mistletoe will enchant and delight.”

Daniels, who has written more than three dozen romance novels—contemporary, romantic suspense, and paranormal—agrees. “Cat’s Paw Cove is a town filled with magic. There are time portals on the restored seventeenth-century ship that’s become the Shipwreck Museum. There are resident fortune tellers and witches, as well as Sherwood cats (a fictional breed) that are protected by the town and have special powers. It was a natural fit for our authors to write stories that not only involve felines with supernatural abilities but the magic of the holidays.”
