The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will host the annual State of the County presentation at 9 am on Tuesday, December 3 in the County Commission Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.
This year’s theme, “Lake County on the Move,” will highlight the County’s many 2019 achievements, including major construction and infrastructure projects, public safety upgrades and economic development.
“It has been an extraordinary year, and we made significant strides in the areas of business development and job creation, public safety and service to our residents,” said Commission Chairman Leslie Campione. “Through cost-cutting measures in various departments, we were able to undertake much-needed projects and still reduce our millage rate, making Lake County’s tax rate the lowest of the county millage rates in our region.”
The State of the County program, led by Chairman Campione, will also include the induction of Kyleen Jane Fischer into the Women’s Hall of Fame.
There will be a brief intermission before the start of the regularly scheduled County Commission meeting. The Election of Officers, in which a chairman and vice-chairman are chosen, will take place at the beginning of the regular Commission meeting.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The entire program and regular board meeting will stream live at https://lakecountyfl.gov/board_agendas/board_agendas_and_actions.aspx.
