Clermont Police are investigating a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that occurred in the area of North Hancock Rd and West Old Highway 50, Clermont, FL.

At approximately 2:43 pm, Clermont Police Patrol and Traffic Enforcement Units responded to the area of North Hancock Rd. and West Old Highway 50 for a report that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian walking in the area of a crosswalk. The pedestrian, a 17-year-old male student from Lake Minneola High School was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center with critical injuries. The family of the pedestrian was notified of the incident.

An investigation was conducted immediately by Clermont Police Traffic Investigators. The vehicle involved was a Honda CRV and the driver is cooperating with the investigation. Several witnesses were interviewed along with the driver of the vehicle. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be provided when available.
