There aren’t many times that the South Lake Chamber of Commerce (SLCC) gets away with truly surprising an award recipient but, this Friday, December 20th, Terry Kracht, was totally stunned as Clermont City Councilwoman Heidi Brishke announced Terry as Clermont’s Gem of the Hills.
For decades, Terry has selflessly worked for the well-being of individuals and animals. Her work with Lifestream stemmed from growing up surrounded by family members that work in the mental health field. Through the knowledge she gleaned from these family members, she found her passion to work with those struggling with mental health and addiction.
As a child, Terry’s dream was to become a vet. Her love of pets sparked her interest in the South Lake Animal League. You can often find her volunteering at events with the league or marching in the holiday parades around town with any number of the animals up for adoption.
Terry also works closely with Building Blocks Ministries. She is not only a volunteer but also serves as a board member and treasurer.
