Congratulations to Larry Hevne on his 250th parkrun!

written by Kendyl Caldwell

The Christmas spirit was among all of the parkrunners, last weekend as the 126 participants ran, jogged, and walked along the beautiful shores of Lake Minneola towards fantastic results and a great morning.  An impressive 24 people completed the course in their record time, and 10 new participants came out. It was cloudy and chilly at first, but it ended up resulting in great running conditions and made it feel a little more like winter. There’s nothing better than celebrating the holidays (and it’s delicious treats) with the pride of an accomplished weekend behind you.

Larry Hevner returned after his fall only a few weeks ago to complete his 250th event! Larry’s constant dedication both as a volunteer and runner continue to inspire everyone in the parkrun community.

The Stephen’s family completed their 50th parkrun all together, all finishing at just under 41 minutes. Their son, Caleb, is just 10 years old but has already run 50 events!

Finally, Stephan Stebbins also finished his 50th parkrun in a time of 26:54.

During these cheery holiday times, it always means a lot to thank the volunteers who make parkrun happen. Without them, this event wouldn’t be able to take place. They always do a fantastic job of bringing a smile to everyone’s face.

Happy holidays from parkrun Clermont! We wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a meaningful time with family and friends.
