Start 2021 with an almost guaranteed 5k personal best at Florida’s Fastest 5k race presented by Sports Medicine Institute on Saturday, January 23rd.  This point-to-point USATF certified distance course at Lake Louisa State Park provides participants with a smooth paved route with only one turn and an 80-foot net elevation loss from start to finishing – meaning runners/walkers have their best chance to hit their personal best on this “fast” course. Last year, over 50% of participants had a PR (personal best).

Continuing to adhere to current social distancing guidelines, this chip-timed race will have a wave start so runners will be at least 6 feet apart at the beginning of the race. A virtual race is also available for those who choose to run at home. Awards from LiveTrends will be provided for the following categories: Top 3 Overall, 1st place Masters (40+) 1st place Grand Masters (50+), Top 3 in each 5-year age group 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+ in Male and Female. Top Male Team, Female.

All participants will receive a race t-shirt, post-race food and a custom medal.  Registration is available at www.FloridasFastest5k.com thru January 22.

A portion of proceeds and all donations will benefit the not-for-profit Friends of Lake Louisa. We would like to also thank our sponsors Sports Medicine Institute, Visit Lake County, Tailwind, OakWood Smokehouse & Grill, and LiveTrends.
