Lake County Supervisor of Elections Alan Hays encourages Lake County citizens to register to vote and/or update their party affiliation by February 18th in order to be eligible to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary on March 17th. 

You must be registered with one of the major parties by the February 18th deadline in order to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary Election. 

Voters who reside within the city limits of Eustis and Groveland will have additional contests on their ballot. All registered voters in those cities will be able to vote in those contests, regardless of their party affiliation. 

Note: The City of Groveland District 5 Representative Seat is up for Special Election.

On November 4, 2019 at 12:01 am, former Councilman Jeff Shoobridge officially resigned as the City of Groveland’s District 5 Representative, to accept a job offer out of state.  The City of Groveland called for a Special Municipal Election to fill the vacancy, whose qualifying period for the election began Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, and closed Friday, December 6, 2019 at 12:01 Noon, resulting in two qualifying candidates; Margie Jones and Interim Councilman, Randolph Waite.

The special election is set to be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020.  For more information on election times, polling locations and voting registration questions, contact the Lake County Supervisor of Elections Alan Hays Office, at www.lakevotes.com or by dialing 352-343-9734.  You may also contact The City of Groveland’s Clerks office at, 352-429-2141 for any additional Special Municipal Election inquires.

Voters who are already registered do not need to re-register but are encouraged to update their registration if any of the following has changed: name, address, signature, or party affiliation. Lake County voters can check their voter registration status by visiting www.LakeVotes.com or calling 352.343.9734. 

Voters may register and/or make their party affiliation changes online at www.LakeVotes.com, at area libraries, or at the tax collector’s, driver’s license locations.

Election day is March 17, 2020, and polls will be open from 7 am to 7 pm.
