Out of an abundance of caution for the people of the parish, Blessed Sacrament will take the following steps to ensure their protection and assist with our nation’s preventive efforts.
Worship
- We will continue to follow our regular Mass schedule.
- Holy Water stoops at the entrance of the church will be emptied.
- Faithful who are sick, or experiencing symptoms of sickness, are excused from the obligation to attend Mass (and out of charity ought not attend). A live stream broadcast of Mass is available on Saturday at 4:00 PM and Sunday at 10:00 AM online at http://www.mybscc.org/live
- Those at particular risk by reason of age or existing health conditions are excused from the obligation to attend Mass. We encourage participation in the celebration of Mass broadcast on Saturday at 4:00 PM and Sunday at 10:00 AM online at http://www.mybscc.org/live
- We invite the faithful to reverently receive the Eucharist in their hands. This directive is motivated by care and concern for the health of our people, especially those who are most vulnerable.
Religious Education & Faith Formation
The following are suspended through March 29, 2020 and will be re-evaluated as circumstances change.
- K-12 Religious Education Classes
- Adult Faith Formation Bible Studies
- Youth Group Meetings
- Christ Renews His Parish Retreat (to be rescheduled)
Pastoral Care & Ministry to the Sick
- Distribution of Communion to our local facilities and home-bound will be suspended.
- In the coming days, our parish priests will work to ensure all of the Catholic residents of the facilities we visit who have not already been anointed receive Anointing of the Sick.
- Ministers to the Sick will continue to stay in touch with the home-bound they visit via telephone.
- Priests will be available for a life-threatening need for Anointing of the Sick.

Lastly, but most importantly, we pray for those who are suffering in the current outbreak of sickness that they might be healed, and for those who have died from this sickness in recent weeks. We pray for scientists, health professionals, public officials, and all who are serving the common good in this difficult and uncertain time, that they will be filled with wisdom and understanding. We pray that in times of illness our merciful and loving Father will strengthen our faith and trust in his goodness and divine providence and that our compassionate Father would touch all affected by the current outbreak with healing and peace.
