“During this difficult time, our goal is to provide some joy and happiness to our community,” Police Chief Charles Broadway said. “We hope these bicycles will encourage their recipients to stay active and to spend time outside with their families while practicing social distancing.”

Department staff are compiling a list of children, teenagers and adults who would benefit most from a bicycle; school resource officers are working with school staff for assistance.

Call To Action: If you would like to suggest someone in need of a bike, contact Cpl. Eric Ruiz at 352-536-8419 as soon as possible with the nominee’s name and contact information.
