Gloria Prada-Moore Is Helping To Make The World A Sweeter Place

Gloria continues to tempt the senses of her customers and friends with her artfully designed, perfectly baked, and tastefully decadent cakes. She comes to the community from Venezuela, where she began perfecting her talents. The South Lake Tablet was able to speak with Gloria about her beautifully baked creations and the joy of seeing and eating them.

TABLET: Did you bake a lot before you came to the United States?

Gloria: Before coming to the United States, I was an automotive engineer. I also loved to cook and especially bake and decorate cakes.

South Lake Tablet – Why did you leave Venezuela?

Gloria – My country was torn apart by a dictatorship. There was no medicine, no security, no food. Families were broken apart. In 2015, I left my job and my life to come to the United States.

South Lake Tablet – Why did you choose South Lake to call home?

Gloria- I moved to Clermont because my family is here and I love the beautiful views of the lakes.

South Lake Tablet – Since you came to Clermont, you met, fell in love and married long time resident Thomas Moore, a Life Coach/ Finance and Business Consultant at Priority One Coaching, Counseling, & Consulting.

Looks like this is your forever home. When did you decide to open a bakery and how did you come up with the name Cami Bakery?

Gloria – I’ve been a Cast Member at Disney, making desserts for 5 stars restaurants and designing and decorating cakes for Disney Guests. With the pandemic situation, I decided to start my business here in town. I called my shop, Cami Bakery because my 14-year-old daughter is named Camila.

Tablet: Does Cami help out in the business?

Gloria – Cami helps me bake. She also does some of the, “not much fun” jobs like washing the dishes and cleaning up.

Tablet: Where is your shop located?

Gloria: Presently we operate the business out of our home. I hope that this is the beginning of the big step

Tablet – Is there anything else you’d like to share with the readers?

Gloria: Right now I am working with customized cakes and desserts. I customize the flavors, the fillings, the decorations, all along with the customers’ input to make their cake/dessert dream possible. I really love to work with my clients to make every cake wish to come true! I work with love and passion in every cake.
