It’s Friday! Kick-off the weekend by celebrating National Tequila Day.
Tequila is a type of mezcal made using at least 51 percent of the sugars of the blue agave, which is cooked, shredded or mashed, fermented, double distilled, and in some cases, aged in barrels. Tequila is made in several regions of Mexico, mostly surrounding the town of Tequila.
Some people enjoy a shot of tequila with a slice of lime and salt but, for the less hearty, sip a margarita cocktail (tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice) served shaken with ice (on the rocks), blended with ice (frozen) or without ice (straight up). A Tequila sunrise (tequila and orange juice) is also a delicious mix to enjoy while watching the sunrise or sunset.
Remember to drink responsibly. What is your favorite tequila drink?
Recommendation: San Jose Authentic Mexican Restaurant has the best Margaritas in South Lake.
