After adopting a brand new Community Development Code (CDC), the City of Groveland is tentatively scheduled to hold a special virtual Wednesday Workshop on Wednesday, August 12th, at 10 am. This Zoom conference will demonstrate the code in its entirety and reveal its effects on the natural charm along Groveland’s transect. Interested attendees can access the virtual workshop by visiting the City’s website at www.Groveland-fl.gov, and typing in “Smart Growth Vision” into the search toggle. There, they will be able to access the public Zoom Meeting link information.

In an effort to conduct the workshop in a cohesively ongoing manner, all participants are asked to submit their questions before the start of the workshop. Guests who would like to have their questions addressed at the workshop’s conclusion are invited to send their inquiries to ashley.wright@groveland-fl.gov.

The City will also adopt its new Future Land Use Element to the Comprehensive Plan on Monday, August 24th, during a City Council meeting hosted on Zoom.

The new Future Land Use Element provides a vision for sustainable and smart growth in Groveland for decades to come by applying traditional planning principles. New Towns, Villages, and Hamlets will complement Groveland’s natural and agrarian landscapes.
