National Grandparents Day falls on the first Sunday after Labor Day. This year, Grandparents Day is celebrated on Sunday, September 13.

The COVID virus has impacted the lives of the elderly and grandparents need love and recognition more than ever.

The term is Reciprocity; “exchanging love with others for mutual benefit”.  Grandparents are teachers, historians, providing unconditional love and acceptance. and in exchange,  they want time to be heard, loved and accepted.

You may not agree with what they say, you may think their views are outdated but they have awesome stories and life experiences. Their families should value their existence.

Grandparents have lived full lives and hold great memories.  Value them now before their voices are no more. Show your love! Value and recognize their accomplishment. If you don’t have a grandparent, you can adopt one.  They are in every nursing home and assisted living facility.

Grandparents Day is an opportunity to spend some quality time with grandma and grandpa. Of course, grandparents appreciate any time, regardless of the day, you have to give them.

Happy Grandparents Day!
