Lake County will begin accepting applications on Monday, October 26 at 1 p.m. for Phase 2 of the Lake County Resident Assistance Program. Applications will be accepted through Monday, November 30 at 11 p.m. The program is funded by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will assist residents who have been negatively impacted by COVID-19.

On September 29, 2020, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners voted to allocate $15 million in CARES Act funding for resident assistance. Eligible Lake County residents may receive up to $4,000 in rent or mortgage assistance as reimbursement of funds already expended or as a direct payment to a landlord or lender for past due balances; past due rent or mortgage is not a requirement for eligibility.

The Phase 2 application has been optimized to streamline the process. Applicants are encouraged to do the following prior to completing the application:

  • Preregister at https://lakecountyfl.submittable.com/submit.
  • Read the Coronavirus Relief Fund Housing Assistance Program’s Frequently Asked Questions.
  • Review the eligibility requirements.
  • Prepare and scan the required forms and documentation.
